Yukon UFO Sighting December 1996
30 witnesses see mile wide UFO hovering over Fox Lake in an evening in December 1996.
On December 11th, 1996 between the hours of 7pm and 10pm, over 30 people reported seeing strange lights in the skies along a long stretch of road in Canada's Yukon territory. Witnesses described rows of multicolored lights moving silently over Fox Lake. Some described a large craft that "blocked out the stars" and shot "beams of light" down to the ground. One witness said her cars tape deck slowed and the lights on her dashboard flickered as the object passed overhead. This story is one the most compelling yet least heard of UFO incidents in modern times. Incidents like this happen all over the world but are largely ignored and forgotten, save for the few eye witnesses whose lives were forever changed.
Sadly, like many other incidents, the accounts lack any hard evidence that would lead to a solid conclusion. What is certain, these people did witness the same object. Its size, movement and silence confirms it is not any known aerial craft. But there is no way to say with certainty what it was. To conclude this was a giant space craft driven by aliens from another planet is a common modern conclusion and frankly a bit far fetched, given the available information. Had this been 2,000 years ago we may have considered it to be a God in a chariot of fire. What is puzzling is, despite hundreds of thousands of witness accounts of strange aerial phenomena like this, the study of UFOs is still not considered a valid science. This leads one to question, why don't the powers that be take this phenomena seriously?
